Inter Miami head coach Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino addressed rumors surrounding the possibility of Brazilian star Neymar Jr. joining the MLS side. The Argentine, while rubbishing those claims, informed that the move is ‘impossible’, due to some major financial restrictions.
Brazilian forward Neymar Jr. has been linked with a move to David Beckham’s Inter Miami, and the rumors heightened after the 32-year-old recently bought a water-front property in Florida. He has a contract with his current side Al-Hilal until next summer, and a move could be well up on the cards.
If the transfer deal materializes, Neymar would reunite with his former Barcelona teammates, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba at Inter Miami.
However, Miami manager Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino brushed aside those rumors by admitting that Neymar’s move is highly unlikely, owing to the MLS’ strict financial and squad restrictions. He termed the link between the Brazilian star’s real estate purchase and a future transfer deal as ‘ridiculous’.
Martino also urged the media to not involve in any discussions regarding a speculative transfer deal, while suggesting that not everyone who owns a house or has a partner from Fort Lauderdale would join Miami.

Therefore, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for Neymar Jr. after he most recently made his return from a season-long injury that he sustained in November last year. Meanwhile, Tata Martino stressed on Inter Miami’s focus on the upcoming crucial MLS playoffs encounter against Atlanta United.
Neymar Jr. out of Brazilian squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers despite making a return from injury
Brazil’s all-time top goal-scorer Neymar Jr. was once again omitted from the national team squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifier matches against Venezuela and Uruguay. The 32-year-old forward, despite making his return from an injury, failed to make it to Dorival Junior’s side.
Neymar returned to play for Al-Hilal last month, after a year-long absence due to a knee injury that he sustained during the October international break last year.
Speaking on his exclusion, head coach Dorival Junior informed that the forward was willing to make a return to the team and has recovered fully, but the management did not wish to rush things. Moreover, he pointed to the Al-Hilal star’s lack of playing time.
The 32-year-old star will have to wait until March next year to return to the national team, when they play Colombia and Argentina in the World Cup qualifiers. Additionally, Real Madrid youngster Endrick has also been left out of Brazil’s recent squad.
