Recently, there has been considerable discussion about Novak Djokovic’s return ahead of the highly anticipated Wimbledon, set to commence on July 1st. In the fourth round of the French Open, Djokovic suffered a fall that resulted in a meniscus tear in his knee.

Forced to withdraw from the clay major, the Serbian quickly underwent knee surgery and is on the road to recovery. However, the surgery meant that Djokovic wouldn’t have enough time to return before Wimbledon but would make it in time for the Paris Olympics.

However, American tennis pro Taylor Fritz has revealed that Djokovic could easily make it in time for Wimbledon. According to Fritz, the Serbian had approached him for advice after the injury as Fritz had also returned from a meniscus tear.

Sharing his experience, Fritz revealed how the surgery doesn’t cause any change, and it depends on the inflammation, and how he reacts to that inflammation.

I told him what it was like for me. A lot of it comes down to the inflammation and how you react. It’s possible for Novak to play. It’s the exact same thing that I had and I played. Obviously, I wasn’t contending to win a title, I was just showing up to hopefully win a couple of rounds – but it is possible.

Fritz then went on to give insight, citing his injury experience, where he was unable to walk because of the high inflammation and had to wait for it to stop puffing up before he could get back to the court. However, there is no actual confirmation from Novak Djokovic, who is most likely to skip the grass championships and feature at the Paris Olympics

American ace Taylor Fritz has had a rather roller-coaster of a year. Having done decent enough to make it among the top players in a tournament, he hasn’t been able to win any.

Fritz lost to eventual semi-finalist Casper Ruud at the recently concluded French Open in the fourth round. After a challenging clay court season, the American is on grass, aiming for a title at Queens.

Fritz has gotten off to a great start as he sent off Taro Daniel in the Round of 16 and will face Milos Raonic, who recently played one of his best games of tennis. It looks like a challenging round for the American as he tries to make it to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
