Taylor Fritz‘s girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, seemed to target Alexander Zverev after Fritz beat him on Monday. Zverev had earlier accused members of Fritz’s box of being too loud during the comeback win.
Last year, Zverev faced accusations in court of physically abusing a woman in 2020. He recently settled the case by agreeing to pay Brenda Patea, the mother of his child, $217,820. Despite the settlement, he was found not guilty. Patea had publicly identified herself as the victim.

Taylor Fritz completes memorable comeback against Alexander Zverev to secure Wimbledon quarter-final spot
Taylor Fritz achieved a remarkable comeback victory at Wimbledon on Monday. He was seeded 13th and faced fourth seed Alexander Zverev. Despite trailing by two sets initially, the American rallied to win the match 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 6-3, securing a spot in the quarter-finals. In the next round, he will compete against 25th seed Lorenzo Musetti for a chance to advance to the semi-finals.
This win marked Fritz’s third time overcoming a two-set deficit in his career. Interestingly, his first such comeback was against Zverev’s older brother, Mischa Zverev, at the 2018 US Open. Mischa was present at Centre Court supporting his brother ‘Sascha’ during this intense match.
Zverev had entered the match with a strong serving record, not having dropped serve in his previous matches. However, Fritz managed to break the German’s serve in the third set, which shifted the momentum in his favor.
Despite wearing a knee sleeve due to a previous injury, the Roland Garros runner-up initially showed good movement. Yet, Fritz elevated his game in the later sets, playing nearly flawlessly to secure the victory after a match lasting over two and a half hours.
