When the WNBA announced that the Indiana Fever would host the 2025 All-Star weekend, Caitlin Clark was one of the most excited players in the league. Throughout the offseason, she dedicated time to rest and develop her skills.
Whether it was her birthday, spending time with Taylor Swift at a Kansas City Chiefs game, or any other engagement she had to attend, the point guard made sure to work out that morning.
She even declined to participate in the NBA’s 3-point contest, as she wanted to dip her toes into that competition at the All-Star weekend set to take place in the city she has made her second home.
All of that effort went to waste when she re-injured her groin a couple of games before the festivities started. Clark watched the 3-point contest from the sidelines, and then donned assistant coaching duties at the All-Star game. However, it was not the first time she enacted the role of a coach.
I love football and I know a lot of football. So, I was telling her why they threw a flag. But in the best way. I was just explaining things. That was really fun. Getting to spend time with Taylor and then also Travis (Kelce) played really well that game, the Chiefs won.

This was Caitlin Clark’s answer when Sue Bird asked her what she was telling Taylor Swift at the Chiefs game. The Fever guard’s expertise in understanding football is already well established. Therefore, it was not surreal for it to be her explaining a woman whose boyfriend was playing in that game.
Caitlin Clark jokes about her soccer past
Before becoming a megastar in basketball, Caitlin Clark was a dual-sport athlete, excelling in soccer. At the All-Star weekend special episode of A Touch More podcast, Megan Rapinoe had to ask her about one picture.
I don’t know honestly. I had played for Team USA’s U16 team. I just rejoined the team and then about killed the goalie, I guess. Clearly I didn’t score.

Rapinoe agreed that there was no way the Indiana Fever guard scored on that play, as she had just impeded the goalie. Clark tried to recall if she had received a yellow card on that play, as such a leap would have led to that.
The 23-year-old’s competitive drive is well established in the WNBA, as she never backs down from a battle with the best of the best. However, she also has a goofy side, which she revealed while on this podcast.
Caitlin Clark reveals her dual personality
Since Caitlin Clark became a superstar in college, her competitive drive has rubbed a lot of her peers the wrong way. At the same time, as was evident during the All-Star weekend, she is completely the opposite when she is not on the court.

I feel like a lot of people don’t realize how goofy I actually am. A lot of my teammates would say that. People don’t realize I’m just comedic relief in the locker room. Once I step on the court, I’m super fiery and I wanna kill. But every moment other than that it’s not serious. That’s hard for people to understand.

The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year added that fans do not see all the facets that make up her personality, as they only get to see her for 2 hours on TV. They are completely oblivious to how she is around her teammates, family, and even her peers.
