The NFL and Hallmark have collaborated on a project “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.” While it does take inspiration from the iconic couple, the story does not give references to either of them.
The recently aired movie has several references and insiders from the Chiefs. In addition to that, it also has tie-ins from the team, including cameos from Chiefs players and head coach Andy Reid and Donna Kelce, mother of Travis and Jason Kelce. The movie comes as a measure for both NFL and Hallmark to expand their audience reach.
Besides NFL and Hallmark, Lifetime also grabbed the opportunity to capitalize on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. The franchise announced a rival holiday movie, “Christmas in the Spotlight”. Per the plot, the movie follows a singer in love with a football player.
