Taylor Swift made waves by announcing her 12th album on boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast. Two weeks later, the pop icon attended the Kansas City Chiefs’ final preseason fixture against the Chicago Bears.
Swift’s appearance on the New Heights show broke several records. Fans are used to seeing the 35-year-old’s breathtaking routines, paired with her enchanting voice, on her tours. Kelce’s podcast gave them a chance to see her as a regular human being, smitten with her beau.
Of course, Swift’s unveiling of her new album was the je ne sais quoi of the entire episode. However, fans also learned how she and Kelce fell in love, a glimpse into her knowledge of football and several hidden Easter eggs regarding her future shows.
The world was still in the process of recovering from Swift’s fever when she made her next move. She showed up at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday to watch the Chiefs’ preseason finale against the Bears. Or did she?
Josh Frydman of WGN News shared a screenshot of a blonde girl wearing a red top with the Chiefs logo embroidered in the front. However, the girl wasn’t Taylor Swift, but a look-alike.
Her get-up was so on point that she even fooled the camera crew into believing that she was indeed the singer of ‘So High School.’ In reality, she was a fan of arguably the most famous singer on the planet.

Taylor Swift received support from a Panthers rookie regarding her knowledge of football
Swift grew up with football. Her father, Scott Swift, has been a Philadelphia Eagles fan his entire life.

Despite the presence of America’s favorite pastime, Swift was barely ever interested in learning about football until she met Kelce. Before that, the Cruel Summer singer had a wild perception of the game.
Swift believed that all players were on the field simultaneously during NFL games. She also asked the Chiefs’ tight end to share his experience of playing alongside his older brother, Jason Kelce, in the Super Bowl.
Not only that, she believed Jared Goff and Josh Allen, for example, are on the field and facing off against each other. Clearly, her education on football was limited to players’ names in the beginning.
However, Carolina Panthers rookie Princely Umanmielen posted a tweet in support of Swift. Umanmielen claimed that’s actually how the NFL markets things.
i don’t blame her, that’s exactly how the media makes it seem. “jared goff vs josh Allen” you would think it’s a 1v1 https://t.co/eQfacMnO62

There’s truth in his statement, to some extent. Quarterbacks are the poster boys of every NFL franchise. Unless there are other exceptionally talented players like Derrick Henry, Maxx Crosby, or Ja’Marr Chase on the team, QBs tend to overshadow their teammates.
Players who play in obscure positions, the long snapper or the punter, barely get any limelight unless they create a highlight reel or have an embarrassing moment.
Regardless, Swift has grown to love football, and she even occasionally draws up plays in her spare time.
[Taylor’s] really interested in football, and she asks a lot of great questions. [She] started drawing up plays. We might have to put one in.

Swift’s first game at Arrowhead was a Bears game in September 2023. Since then, she has attended a total of 22 games, including the Chiefs’ Super Bowl 58 triumph over the 49ers.
The Chiefs travel to Brazil for their 2025 season opener against divisional rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers. Will Swift be at the game? Fans just have to wait until that day to find out.
