The Buffalo Bills handed Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season last week. The rivalry between these two teams has been heated in recent years and that was evident when a Kermit the Frog puppet, dressed in Patrick Mahomes’ jersey was hanging from a rope outside Highmark Stadium.
While it is no surprise that the Bills mafia is not a fan of Patrick Mahomes, this visual was quite distressing. The incident had the quarterback’s teammate Travis Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift concerned as it comes just days after both of their homes were burglarized.
This incident shocked Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Patrick who was “taken aback” by the visual. As per DailyMail, Swift and her significant other were not fans of this move either and reached out to Brittany Mahomes to check on her.
Taylor’s friends said she and Travis found it incredibly disturbing. She has talked to Brittany who was really taken aback.

Patrick Mahomes is often teased as being Kermit the Frog due to his voice
This is not the first time that Mahomes has been called Kermit the Frog. The Raiders had mocked him earlier this year with members of the team holding a puppet and comparing it to the Chiefs’ quarterback. He has been questioned on the similarity of his voice to the animated character on previous occasions.
Patrick Mahomes was asked to do his best Kermit the Frog impression during his Super Bowl press conference and the quarterback embraced the joke while retorting with “I’m talking right now, that’s it.” He no longer takes offense to the memes.
I’ve gotten used to it, it’s like the joke that keeps giving. I’ve heard it all, jokes about Kermit the Frog or about smoking cigarettes. It’s unique, so maybe I’ll get a deal from having that unique voice.

While he deserves props for his upbeat attitude towards the mocking, the incident in Buffalo was over the line. The past few weeks have been distressing as is for Patrick Mahomes after his property was broken into and jerseys, medals, trophies, and awards were stolen from his Belton, Missouri residence. There is an increased degree of vigilance and security around the quarterback after this and for good reason. Buffalo beat Kansas City 30-21 last week to hand them their first loss of the season.
