With one game remaining in the 2025 NFL Wild Card round, the attention of football fans will shift to the Divisional round soon. The rest of the playoff contenders work amongst themselves to figure out how to defeat their next opponents as they look to unseat the Kansas City Chiefs as Super Bowl champions.
The Divisional round games are going to be crackers. The NFC has the likes of the Washington Commanders winning their first playoff game in nearly two decades about to take on the formidable Detroit Lions.
The second game in the NFC will be between either of the Vikings or Rams against the Philadelphia Eagles. In the AFC, the games are bigger in stature as the likes of the Baltimore Ravens will take on the Buffalo Bills.
The AFC, though, will kick the Divisional round week off when the Houston Texans take on the Kansas City Chiefs. That game will see a Chiefs team hell bent on being the first to create history by winning three-straight Super Bowls. To cheer them on to that once in a lifetime possibility will be Taylor Swift.
Usually, those factors should push the passionate Chiefs fans to purchase all the tickets outright. The tickets for that Divisional round game at Arrowhead Stadium are starting at $150 at the time of writing. But that is not among the top in the league.
Taylor Swift impact not enough as Eagles fans pour in their money to cheer their team
Usually, Taylor Swift and the Chiefs three-peat bid should be enough to ensure the ticket prices are through the roof. But it was the Philadelphia Eagles ticket prices that showed that Philly fans are a different bunch.
Prices for one ticket of the Eagles Divisional round showdown on Ticketmaster at the time of writing were $340. That is more than twice the prices Chiefs fans have to pay. It results in an additional $12 million windfall for the Eagles organization, just on the basis of minimum prices.
Philly fans are known to be a passionate lot and go to great lengths to cheer their team on. It explains why most of the tickets for the Divisional round are sold out even before they learn who their opponent will be.
The idea seems to be that it does not matter who they take on. Those fans sporting their unmistakable green jerseys will be there no matter what. They want another Super Bowl and believe this iteration of their team can do that.
If their Wild Card round was anything to go by, they can have their hopes will be high. That usually translates into additional income for the franchise, as food and drinks will fly off the shelves. All they need to top this is to win that game and advance to the NFC Championship game.
