Team India scripted history as they won their first ICC trophy in 11 long years. They previously had qualified for the final and semi final but did not manage to get the trophy. However, this time around, they finally got their hands on the coveted trophy. India beat South Africa in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 by 7 runs and secured their second T20 World Cup trophy.

However, after the win, there is a tough time for the Indian Cricket Team in Barbados. Hurricane has hit Barbados shore at 8PM local time on Sunday and curfew has been imposed. The airports have been shut down, hence the Indian players, journalists have been confined to their team hotels in Barbados.

India had their flight reservation booked on Monday as Sunday was expected to be a reserve day for the T20 World Cup 2024, if rain halted play on Saturday. Hence, they could not leave at the early hours of the day on Sunday. Now they have to wait till the situation improves in Barbados and airport is reopened.

India did not lose a single game in the T20 World Cup 2024 and became the first side in history to win the T20 World Cup undefeated. They were put under the pump in the final against South Africa. Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first. At one stage, India were 34/3 and were in deep trouble. However, Virat Kohli finally stepped up on the day. He held the innings and scored 76 runs of 59 balls. Axar Patel was an able partner with 47 runs off 31 balls. They powered India to 176 in their 20 overs.

In reply, South Africa were cruising when Heinrich Klaasen and David miller were at the crease. South Africa just needed 30 runs off 30 balls to win the game. However, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Suryakumar Yadav‘s catch turned the game in favor of India as South Africa ‘choked’ yet again on the big stage.
