American athlete Emily Delleman recently narrated her experience using a dating app inside the Paris Olympic Village in Paris. The 26-year-old athlete was left disheartened after not finding any Olympians in the first scroll.

Delleman went to the Play Store to re-download Tinder. They had already hyped it up marketing it, ‘match with pro athletes using our new feature’. This took her expectations higher but only in vain. She further said that she went to check her location settings after finding only 2 Olympians within a mile radius. Can’t blame her though, she had a perfectly good defense.

I mean don't get me wrong, you Parisian men are beautiful, chefs kiss like I don't know what they put in the water. But you know I went in with the expectations of finding some of my future plot lines but alas I guess we're searching for other forms of entertainment and that's why you're finding me on TikTok.

The dating strategy is another thing that was passed down from the Tokyo Olympics along with the anti-sex beds. Delleman took her followers through her whole journey of re-downloading Tinder. She took the trip to nostalgia after watching people online switching their locations to the Olympic Village and thought it a genius idea. Since she was already at the Paris Olympics, she thought she might as well utilize it. However, she took the plunge of a dry scroll.

Alleged Sex-Ban at the Paris Olympics

Emily Delleman’s video about her Tinder struggles at the Paris Olympics hit more than 4 million views on TikTok. The official handle of Tinder commented, “Someone tag me in part 2”. The target audience understood the assignment and took to debunking the reason for the dry spell on Tinder.

Much of that had to do surrounding the cardboard beds at the Paris Olympics. They had been named, “anti-sex beds” for they serve the purpose of being anything but comfortable. Several athletes took to social media to share updates on their sleeping conditions revealing that they are durable and can handle weight.

However, some of them mentioned, “the beds are sh*tty”, after having a troublesome sleep on them after day 1 of the Paris Olympic games. After much fuss, the notion was spread around that they were the reason for the tough luck in the dating game for the athletes.

The beds were introduced to incorporate recyclable material and have been carried forward from the Tokyo Olympic Village. However, Team USA’s Olympic Village Director Daniel Smith previously stated that the sex ban had been lifted for the Paris Games. In turn, they also distributed 300,000 condoms across the Olympic Village.
