Teaming up with LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant for Olympics had NBA Champion Jayson Tatum in awe

The ‘Redeem Team’ banding up together has already had a major impact on fans of basketball. That is before they even played a game at the Olympics. The reason is that LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant teaming up is a dream come true for many. Even for a recent NBA Champion.

The presence of the superstar trio was overwhelming for newly crowned NBA Champion, Jayson Tatum. He revealed his feelings while talking on the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast:

I had to take a step back and be like, 'man, those are 3 of the best players ever to play this game'. We all teammates right now going to try to win a Gold Medal. I don't know if it was the fan or the kid in me, but I was like 'man, this is dope'.

To be called up to this edition of Team USA, one had to be one of the best basketball players in the country. But even then, to be in the company of LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant is an altogether surreal experience.

Jayson Tatum knows that he is fortunate to be in this situation. He is an NBA Champion and still in awe, gives a glimpse of what fans of the game would feel when the trio play together at the Olympics.

Former President sees off LeBron James and Team USA

Team USA organized an event last night to send off their superstars for the Olympics. That is, they would leave for friendlies after playing Canada and not return until the Olympics are over. To commemorate the occasion, they invited former President and basketball fan Barack Obama.

The 2-time President was seen shaking hands and hugging the stars. He especially had long hugs with Stephen Curry and LeBron James and had a few words with them. Then he also shook hands with the coaching staff before saying some words to the gathered crowd.

It seems everyone knows the gravity of the situation. These superstars coming together is a moment in basketball history no one will forget. Which is why everyone wants to get a glimpse of that history.
