Belarusian tennis ace Victoria Azarenka tackled an online troll after they tried to demean Novak Djokovic for his humorous post. As Djokovic joked about ATP’s latest skit that showed the new ATP season as a reality show and the players as actors, Azarenka found it hilarious. She reacted to Djokovic’s post where he asked fans to question the director for tinkering with the script.
Azarenka was in splits after the Serbian ace suggested to tennis fans that they should question the director for changing the script. Djokovic said that as the season normally begins with character Novak Djokovic winning the Australian Open, it was changed this year.
Normally the writers start the season with my character Novak winning the Australian Open title. So, for anyone that doesn’t like the beginning of this season, please contact the directorNovak Djokovic posted on X.
Victoria Azarenka reacted to this by posting a laughing emoji. However, a user commented under her post that Djokovic’s comment was not amusing. To this, Azarenka gave a befitting reply as she suggested to the user that they don’t laugh.
Dont laughVictoria Azarenka replied.
What is this new Tennis reality show featuring Novak Djokovic and others?
Not only Victoria Azarenka, but many others also found this new concept from ATP hilarious. Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula demanded the person who came up with the idea must be given a raise. But what was so special?
ATP on Thursday released a 5-minute-long video titled The Tour: A Reality Show, featuring top tennis stars. The video shows stars like Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic admitting that the ATP seasons are all scripted. The video even shows players recording the sounds that fans get to hear during the matches.
Meanwhile, a player is shown recording his winner’s speech in front of a green screen. The producers nail this satirical skit that hits back at those who criticize the tour claiming it is scripted. Everyone in the video subtly takes aim at such critics.
It is not known if this was a one-off video or if more such satirical skits will be released in the coming months. Either way, this looks like a perfect marketing strategy to promote the new ATP season considering the traction this video has gotten so far.
