“Using your voice, send love to my husband!” Wife breaks silence on Novak Djokovic’s detention in Australia

Novak Djokovic has been the talk of the town since he refrained from talking about his vaccination status, as it vaccination was deemed necessary for the first slam of the year, down under.

According to recent updates, the authorities accepted his application and Djokovic was granted an ‘exemption’. On 5th January 2022 Novak flew to Melbourne only to be stopped by the airport authorities because of border laws. The police kept him in isolation and the player was interrogated for around nine hours. As a result, his visa got canceled and he is currently being kept in detention.

Numerous people including tennis stars and celebrities expressed their views on Novak’s isolation at Melbourne airport. Many players expressed their sympathy towards the Serb. His father Srđan Djokovic said he was held as a ‘prisoner’ at the airport, while his mother commented that he’s been in a room full of insects, and is being treated poorly.

While many people expressed their opinions, Novak’s wife Jelena finally broke her silence on the matter. She thanked all the people who are supporting Novak in this tough time. She expressed how grateful she is for all the fans who used their voice to show their love and support to the star.

“Thank you dear people, all around the world for using your voice to send love to my husband. The only law that we should all respect across every single border is Love and respect for another human being.” Jelena said as quoted by SKY news.
