Juan Martin del Potro recently shared an absolutely delightful anecdote about attending a private Hollywood party back in the day. The Argentine had become an overnight star in 2009 after his 2009 US Open title win against the defending champion Roger Federer.

Post the win, one memory has a special place in his heart, which is the invitation to a private party by American actor/singer Justin Timberlake. The 33-year-old shared that in the private party, despite there being multiple huge Hollywood personalities in presence, he became the star attraction and the most important person at the party, garnering a lot of attention.

“Justin Timberlake called me after dinner and I went to a private party. All of Hollywood, singers, famous people and, suddenly, the most important was me.”- said del Potro.

While narrating the story, he made a special mention of a moment related to legendary basketballer LeBron James. The Argentine revealed that the basketball icon specially asked him for a photo with him. “LeBron James asked the guards for permission to take a photo with me,” added the Argentine.

Del Potro, then aged just 20, had a sensational US Open campaign in 2009. He defeated the likes of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer en route to the title.
