“I’m hitting at 3 pm tomorrow, let’s do it” Andy Murray invites Iga Swiatek for a practice session at the Indian Wells

Andy Murray and Iga Swiatek
Andy Murray is one of the most experienced players at the Indian Wells men’s draw this year being the only 1 of 2 players who has reached the finals of the Masters event. Murray is currently ranked outside the Top-100 and is making efforts to move up in the rankings in order to avoid tough clashes at the beginning of the tournaments.
Murray started his campaign this year with a straight-set win over France’s Adrian Mannarino, continuing his streak of winning all of his 1st round matches in the desert. While it has been an eventful week so far after he found his lost tennis shoes and wedding ring, the Brit is enjoying his time in California certainly and was generous to complete a fellow player’s dream.
World No. 4 and the 2nd seed on the WTA side, Iga Swiatek had a winning debut in the main-draw of the tournament as she defeated Petra Martic 6-1, 6-3 to advance into the 2nd round. Speaking in an interview with Tennis Channel after her victory, Swiatek said that Andy Murray is one of her dream hitting partners and Murray was quick to take note of it.
Being highly active on his Twitter handle, Murray invited the Polish youngster for a combined session ahead of their respective matches. “I don’t have her number unfortunately but I’m hitting at 3pm tomorrow if she wants to join? @iga_swiatek lets do it,” wrote Murray tagging her.
Andy Murray to face Carlos Alcaraz in Round 2, Swiatek to face Kudermetova in Round 3

While Iga has been seeded into the draw, she had a bye in the first round and began her campaign directly in the 2nd round of the tournament. With a win over Martic, the 20-year old will now take on Veronika Kudermetova in what will be the 2nd meeting of their careers and 1st of the season.
Murray on the other hand is yet to play his 2nd round match against Spanish teen sensation Carlos Alcaraz who returns to action for the first time since he became the youngest man in the Open Era to reach the quarter-finals of the US Open after his emphatic run at the Grand Slam this year. It will be the first meeting between the two players.
While Swiatek is yet to respond to Murray’s proposal, it won’t be a surprise if she turns up for the session.
