Sam Querrey continues his run at the Stuttgart Open with another straight-set victory that sees him enter the quarter-final for the first time this season at any event since 2019. Querrey last played on Grass at the 2019 Wimbledon and is looking to pickup form ahead of the 2021 Wimbledon, later this month.

He reaches the quarter-final on the back of consecutive straight-set wins and with a lower ranked opponent in the form of Stricker, Sam will be eyeing the trophy which will be his first title since 2017.

Dominic Stricker, the 18-year old Swiss, who is playing his first ever Grass tournament has made good start as he reaches the quarter-final defeating Polish star Hubert Hurkacz, who was seeded 2nd at the tournament, in straight-sets to register his second straight-set victory this week.

This will be his 2nd consecutive ATP-250 quarter-finals this year, after previously playing in the last-8 stage at the ATP Geneva Open 2021.

Sam Querrey vs Dominic Stricker : Prediction

Sam Querrey will be the favourite in the upcoming Sam Querrey vs Dominic Stricker clash.
Sam Querrey

It will be an interesting clash between the two as both will come into the tie with great confidence after having won both of their previous ties in straight-sets. The only hope for Stricker will be to take the tie deep and tire out the American who has not been much active on the tour while Stricker has been heavily involved on Challenger and lower levels playing competitive tournaments.

However, it seems that Sam will be the favourite in the clash as he is more experienced on the tour and also on the Grass surface having played longer than the Swiss, has maintained a winning rate of more than 50% on Grass for the last 5 seasons on Clay.

Prediction: Sam Querrey to win in 3-sets.
