Men’s Singles Draw Analysis and Prediction
Top Half
World No.3 Alexander Zverev accepted a late wild card entry and will headline the top half of the draw. He receives a first round bye along with the other top 4 seeds. He will play either Ilya Ivashka or Mackenzie McDonald in the second round. Defending champion David Goffin too accepted a wild card entry and will face Benjamin Bonzi in the first round. Another Frenchman, Adrian Mannarino will be up against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the opener and the winner could face Goffin in the second round.
Australian Open quarterfinalist Gael Monfils is seeded third in the tournament and will face either Corentin Moutet or Mikael Ymer in the Round of 16. In the All-French battle, 7th seed Ugo Humbert will take on Richard Gasquet and the winner will face either Hugo Gaston or Soonwoo Kwon in the second round.

2021 Finalist Roberto Bautista Agut is seeded second in the tournament and will face either a qualifier or Lucas Pouille in the Round of 16. Sixth seed Alexander Bublik will be up against Tallon Griekspoor in the first round with the winner facing the winner of the match between a qualifier and Peter Gojowczyk.
4th seed Nikoloz Basilashvili will open his campaign against a qualifier or Alex Molcan in the second round while 5th seed Filip Krajinovic will take on Australian Alexei Popyrin in the opener. Krajinovic will face a qualifier or French veteran Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the Round of 16. Basilashvili and Krajinovic are expected to meet in the quarterfinals.

Semifinals
Top seed Alexander Zverev will face Frenchman Gael Monfils in a blockbuster semifinal match. Zverev is the favorite to win the tournament but Monfils is in hot form and playing on home soil will definitely play in his favor. The German will not take Monfils for granted at any cost and should have enough in the tank to topple him.
Two hard-hitting players, Nikoloz Basilashvili and Roberto Bautista Agut, will battle it out for a place in the final. The Georgian has one of the biggest forehands on tour and will hope for it to work once again in the semifinal. Baustista Agut has been in amazing form this season and would fancy his chances to make back-to-back finals in Montpellier.
