Aljaz Bedene vs Salvatore Caruso : Preview

Aljaz Bedene
Aljaz Bedene

Aljaz Bedene has been struggling to find form and consistency this season as he continues making early exits at the tournaments. His best result of the season has been his quarter-final appearances at the ATP Cagliari Open 2021 and the ATP Lyon Open 2021. Apart from these results he has found little success.

He comes to Parma from the Lyon Open where he matched his season best performance before losing out to Italian teenager Lorenzo Musetti in the quarter-finals in straight sets.

Salvatore Caruso has been in poor form throughout the season. The Italian has been at 11 tournaments this year but is yet to qualify beyond the Round of 16. His best performance so far came at the Great Ocean Road Open 2021 where he reached the Round of 16, a result he is yet to achieve since then.

He comes to the Parma Open from ATP Geneva Open 2021 where he was knocked out in the first round in straight sets.

Aljaz Bedene vs Salvatore Caruso : Prediction

Aljaz Bedene will be the favourite in the upcoming Aljaz Bedene vs Salvatore Caruso clash at the ATP Parma Open 2021.
Aljaz Bedene

Bedene is 6-5 on Clay this season whereas Caruso is 3-6. This has been the worst start on Clay for the Italian who has maintained minimum 50% win rate on Clay in his career. Bedene looks in better form amongst the two and will be the favourite as well to go ahead into the second round.

Prediction: Aljaz Bedene to win in 3-sets.
