The big hitting German has played as many as 12 matches on the clay this season. Struff made the quarterfinals of Cagliari and later even reached the finals of his home tournament in Munich, before he was stopped by Nikoloz Basilashvili in straight sets. Unfortunately, he has suffered two early round exits in Madrid and Rome in the last couple of weeks. That said, the 31-year-old comes into this match well prepared to have a decent run in Parma.

On the other hand, the Italian comes into this tournament having played most of his matches on clay in 2021. Although the 19-year-old has played challenger events, he has found his footing on the dirt. Cobolli beat Marcos Giron of the United States in three sets in the opening round of Parma. With a 16/6 win-loss record on the dirt this year, let us not be surprised if Cobolli tries to put in a fight in his match against the experienced German.
