Sebastian Korda vs Tommy Paul : Preview
Sebastian Korda will play his first semi-final of Clay this season as he registers his 3rd straight-set win of the tournament. The 20-year old American had struggled on Clay this season and made early exits in his previous tournaments before coming to Italy.
Korda last played at the Lyon Open 2021 where he was defeated in the Round of 16. Looking for more match practice ahead of his 2nd French Open appearance next week, the American opted to play in Parma where he has played his best tennis on Clay so far. He reached the 4th round at the French Open 2020.
Tommy Paul will also play in his first Clay semi-final of the season at the ongoing Parma Open. The 24-year old had so far made his best run at the Round of 16 at the Lyon Open 2021 from where he travels to Parma.
He comes into the tie from straight-set victories in the 1st and the 3rd round and a 3-set win in the 2nd round as he enters the semi-finals. He will begin his 2021 French Open campaign next week and will look to go past the 2nd round as he is yet to do so in his previous 3 attempts.
Sebastian Korda vs Tommy Paul : Head to Head
This will be the second meeting between the duo, who previously met in the Round of 16 at the Delray Beach Open 2021 where Korda won the match as he finished as the runner-up there. Sebastian Korda leads the head-to-head tie 1-0.
Sebastian Korda vs Tommy Paul : Prediction
Korda is 4-4 on Clay this season with his 3 victories coming this week, however he looks in fine form finishing his matches in straight-sets. Paul on the other hand looks is 8-5 on the Clay as he has been playing on the surface for nearly 2 months but still looks a bit off as compared to Sebastian.
Prediction: Sebastian Korda to win in 3-sets.
