The six foot five inch Korda didn’t start the clay court season well. He was ousted in the first round of both the Serbian Open and the Munich Open. To make matters worse he could not qualify for the Madrid Open. At Lyon he lost to Italian rising star Lorenzo Musetti.

In Parma, he has done well so far. He took out Andreas Seppi in the first round. In the second, he played a fantastic game to beat the top seed Lorenzo Sonego. Sonego was in good form as he reached the Semi-finals of the Italian Open, where he lost to Novak Djokovic. Korda will face Japanese player Yoshihito Nishioka in the Quarters.

Nishioka qualified into the main draw of both the Madrid Open and the Italian Open , but did not go very far. At Lyon he reached the Quarter-finals of the tournament, only to be beaten by Stefanos Tsitsipas at that stage. At Parma he beat Sam Querrey in the first round, and in the second got the better of Italian teenager Lorenzo Musetti.

Sebastian Korda vs Yoshihito Nishioka: Prediction

Sebastian Korda
Sebastian Korda

Korda played a fantastic game of tennis against the top seed Lorenzo Sonego to show him the door. He won 75% points on first first serve and converted three of the four breakpoints he got. If he can keep replicating that form in the tournament, he will go very far indeed. Nishioka has also looked good in his last two matches. This will be a tight game of tennis, but expect Korda to win it.

Match Prediction: Sebastian Korda will beat Yoshihito Nishioka in three sets.
