Men’s Singles Draw Analysis and Prediction
Top Half
Denis Shapovalov will headline the top half of the draw and receives a first-round bye along with the other 3 seeds. He will face Alex Molcan or Filip Krajinovic in the second round and is drawn opposite in form Alexander Bublik who opens against a qualifier. Bublik could face anyone of Jiri Vesely or Arthur Rinderknech in the Round of 16. Shapovalov and Bublik could meet in the quarterfinal.
Third seed Nikoloz Basilashvili is expected to face in form Lorenzo Musetti in the Round of 16, who opens against a qualifier. South African Lloyd Harris will take on Marton Fucsovics in the opening round and the winner is expected to face Soonwoo Kwon in the second round who faces a qualifier in the first round. Either Basilashvili or Musetti could face Harris in the quarterfinal.

Bottom Half
Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut will headline the bottom half of the draw. He will begin his campaign against either Taro Daniel or 3-time grand slam champion Andy Murray. 5th seed Daniel Evans will face Egor Gerasimov in the opening round and will lock horns against either Alejandro Davidovich Fokina or Malek Jaziri in the Round of 16. Evans is expected to face either Murray or Bautista Agut in the quarterfinal.
4th seed Marin Cilic could face Dutch star, Botic van de Zandschulp in the Round of 16 who opens against a qualifier. Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Karen Khachanov will take on Mackenzie McDonald in the opening round and will face either in form Emil Ruusuvuori or David Goffin in the second round.
Second Semi-Final Prediction: Marin Cilic vs Roberto Bautista Agut
Semifinals
In the first semifinal, top seed Denis Shapovalov will be up against Italian teenager Lorenzo Musetti. Both Shapovalov and Musetti haven’t been in the best of form this season but have shown signs of improvement last week. Based on big match temperament, Shapovalov will have an edge.
Marin Cilic will face second seed Roberto Bautista Agut in the second semifinal. Cilic’s big-serving abilities will once again be the key to the outcome of the match but Bautista Agut is well known for his defensive skills which may be enough for him to reach the final.

Final
The two highest-ranked players of the tournament, Denis Shapovalov, and Roberto Bautista Agut will meet on the final. Both players have contrasting game styles which adds to the hype. Bautista Agut has better form this season and could very well win his first title of the year in Doha.
