Stefanos Tsitsipas continues his fantastic start to the 2022 season as he reaches the finals in Rotterdam. The Greek was coming into the tournament from a semi-final run at the 2022 Australian Open and has continued his form this week as well. After a nervy 3-set win in the first round, he won all his matches in straight-sets until the semi-finals when he defeated Jiri Lehecka 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to move into the finals.

Felix Auger-Aliassime followed a similar path on his way to the finals dropping set only in his first match and the semi-finals. The Canadian defeated Andrey Rublev 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-finals to move into the finals and make another attempt at his first-ever singles ATP title despite reaching 8 finals previously. Felix had lost in the quarter-finals in the Australian Open to Daniil Medvedev who then defeated Tsitsipas in the semis.

This will be the 8th meeting between the two players who last met in the quarter-finals of the 2021 Cincinnati Masters where Stefanos won in 3-sets to extend his lead in the head-to-head to 5-2. It was Stef’s 5th straight win over Felix after the Canadian had won their first two meetings to take a 2-0 lead.
