Day 3 of the Australian Open 2022 experienced some great matches. The favorites Naomi Osaka, Maria Sakkari, and Paula Badosa sailed into round three. World No.1 Ashleigh Barty went on full destruction against Lucia Bronzetti and dominated her in a straight-set win.

Naomi Osaka moves a step closer in title defence

Naomi Osaka sailed into round three of the Australian Open 2022 after defeating the American Madison Brengle in her second-round match. The defending champion moved one step closer in the process to defend her title. She won her game against Brengle in straight sets 6-0, 6-4.

The former world No.1 will face another American Amanda Anisimova in her third-round encounter this Friday.

Maria Sakkari wins a comfortable match

Maria Sakkari the 4th seed at the Australian open won her second-round match against the Chinese Qinwen Zheng in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. The greek never looked in any trouble and cruised her way to a comfortable win.

Sakkari will face the Russian Veronika Kudermetova in her third-round match at the Australian Open this Friday.

Paula Badosa wins another match in straight sets

Paula Badosa continued her dominance at the Australian Open as she defeated the Italian Martina Trevisan in straight sets yet again 6-0, 6-3. Badosa’s form makes her a prospect to reach the semis or even the finals.

Badosa in the third-round match will face the Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk. She will obviously be the favorite to win unless Kostyuk pulls off an upset on Friday.

Ashleigh Dominating Barty moves into round three

Ash Barty is playing on another level at the moment, the world No.1 showed pure dominance in her second match against the Italian Lucia Bronzetti. She dominated the match and won it in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. Bronzetti was only able to win just two games in the whole match which shows Barty’s dominance.

The world No.1 will face another Italian Camila Giorgi in her third-round match on Friday. She would be expecting to get the same result that she did today.
