Australian Open 2022, the first slam of the year is all set to commence from January 17. Amidst the recent spike in civid-19 cases all around the world, the Australian Open is yet scheduled to start as per its original date.
The one thing on all fans’ mind is to know as to when the draws for the first major of the year will be made. Just like every major, qualifying rounds are held a week prior to the main draw, which will also be the case this time around.
The official draws for qualifying rounds will be made on January 9, 2022 at 4.00 pm local time. The rest of the draws will be held later in the week, with Men’s and Women’s Singles draw being held on January 13. The doubles draw will be held a day prior to beginning of the tournament, on January 16.
Where to watch Australian Open 2022 Draw?
As of now, there has been no official conformation as to where the draw will be conducted live. However, it is expected that the draw will be streamed live on Facebook.
If Novak Djokovic’s Visa stays cancelled owing to medical exemption issues, then it will be Daniil Medvedev who will enter the Men’s Singles as the top seed. Both players competed in the finals of the Australian Open last time around, where the Serbian emerged the winner in straight sets.

- Qualifying– Sunday, January 9- 4.00 PM Local time
- Men’s and Women’s Singles- January 13- Time TBA
- Men’s and Women’s Doubles- Sunday, January 16, 12 noon Local time
Ashleigh Barty leads the way in Women’s Draw, as she enters the tournament, being the top seed. On the other hand, Aryna Sabalenka is seeded second, with Garbine Muguruza seeded third.
