In the first round, the Australian duo went against the other Australian team made up of James Mccabe and Alex Bolt and defeated them in straight sets ( 6-4, 6-2 ). Following this victory, in the second round, the duo fought the Croatian doubles team Mate Pavić and Nikola Mektić ( 7-6, 6-3 ). Following the next round, Kyrgios and Kokkinakis prevailed over Gonzalo Escobar and Ariel Behar ( 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 ) to play against Tim Pütz and Michael Venus in the quarter-finals and defeating them with the score ( 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 ).

The Spanish and the Argentinian duo have performed tremendously well in all four rounds, starting with facing Yoshihito Nishioka and Jiří Veselý ( 6-3, 6-2 ) in the first round. In the second round, they went against Jonny O’Mara and Andrei Vasilevski and won with ease ( 6-3, 6-3 ). Following this victory, Zeballos and Granollers defeated Pablo Andújar and Pedro Martínez in straight sets ( 7-5, 7-5 ). In the quarter-finals that took place in the Margaret Court Arena, the Spanish and the Argentinian duo faced off against John Peers and Filip Polášek with the score ( 7-6, 6-4 ).
