Ons Jabeur broke many records last year by becoming the first Arab women to win a WTA Tour title and reach the Wimbledon quarterfinal. She was also the first Arab player male/female to achieve a top 10 ranking. Her best result at the Australian Open was a quarterfinal finish in 2020, where she lost to eventual champion Sofia Kenin. She reached atleast the third round of the Grand Slam she has competed in since 2020. She won the 2021 Mubadala World Tennis Championship after defeating reigning Olympic champion Belinda Bencic in the final.
Nuria Parrizas-Diaz also had a good 2021 season. She achieved a career-high ranking of 65 and also won a WTA title and an ITF title. This will be her second appearance in the main draw of a Grand Slam, her first being at the US Open last year.
