Benjamin Todd Shelton, better known as Ben Shelton, is an American tennis player who was born on October 9, 2002. He is highly regarded as one of the best men’s tennis players in America of the upcoming generation and has great potential. He has a career-high ATP ranking of World No. 47, which he achieved on May 8, 2023. 

Although he gradually made a transition to the singles event, Ben Shelton initially made his name as a doubles player. He won the 2016 USTA junior national championship in doubles and played college tennis for the University of Florida. It was not until 2022 that he made a name for himself in singles, as he won the 2022 NCAA Division I Tennis Championships and was named the ITA National Player of the Year.

Ben Shelton made his ATP debut in the 2022 season at the Atlanta Open. In the 2022 Cincinnati Open, he defeated Casper Ruud, which was his first big victory. Ben Shelton had been on the rise since then, but he finally made his mark in the 2023 US Open when he made it to the semifinals of the tournament.

Ben Shelton is African-American and Caucasian. His father, Bryan Shelton, is an African American, while his mother, Lisa Shelton, is a Caucasian. Bryan and Lisa met at Georgia Tech, where they both played tennis. They soon developed a loving relationship and tied the knot in 1999. Ben was born three years later.

Ben Shelton’s father is Bryan Shelton, and his mother is Lisa Shelton. Both his parents played tennis at Georgia Tech, but it was his father, who was a well-known tennis player who later turned into a coach. At his peak, Bryan Shelton had a career-high ranking of World No. 55, which tells us a lot about how good he was. 

Bryan Shelton was the constant source of inspiration for Ben Shelton, and it was he who guided him in his early years and carved his career. 

Lisa Shelton, on the other hand, comes from a tennis background as well. She is the sister of former world No. 4 doubles and No. 43 singles player Todd Witsken. She has also been a very talented junior tennis player herself.
