Drama is never away from Nick Kyrgios be it anywhere on the globe. The Australian returned to the Tour for the first time since the 2022 Australian Open playing in the 2022 Indian Wells Masters in both the singles and doubles disciplines. While he was unlucky to miss out on the titles both times, he showed that he is certainly not done with the sport and is still one of the most talented players.

Kyrgios was stopped by eventual runner-up Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals in what was a thrilling match that nearly went on for 3 hours. While Nadal came out on top, the Australian had his moments too. During the match, however, Kyrgios gave a smashing reply to one of the spectators sitting behind him who was trying to disturb the Australian between his serves.

Having spotted legendary actor Ben Stiller in the stands during the match, Kyrgios replied to the spectator, “Are you good at tennis? Exactly. Then why are you speaking.” While the crowd burst laughing, Nick followed it up with another remark. Pointing towards Stiller, Nick said, “Do I tell him how to act? No.”

Nick later Tweeted his conversation with the ball boy whom he accidentally was going to hit when he threw his racquet. On that tweet, Stiller replied to Nick saying, “Great Match Today.” Nick replied to the actor, “Thanks maybe we can start working on the next film together, I think I got some acting in me how is your tennis?”

Ben was not done playing with the Australian and went on to say, “I could use some help with my serve but maybe a new doubles team? We can discuss it on set…” to which Nick promptly replied, “Done.”

The run to the quarter-finals sees Nick move closer to the Top-100, a big jump of 30 places. The Australian was ranked 132nd before the start of the tournament and is now ranked 102nd in the world. With another appearance coming in the 2022 Miami Masters where he has received a wildcard to enter the main-draw, Nick could well break into the Top-100 once again.
