World No. 13 Carreno Busta started off well in the tournament. He went past Czech tennis player Jiří Veselý without much hassle. Busta started off well and continued the attack in both sets, eventually winning the contest in straight sets by 6-4, 6-4.
Busta finished his first encounter in just 1 hour and 38 minutes and confirmed a seat in the quarter-finals. Although, he was out under pressure on a few instances by Vesely who scored as many as 9 aces, whereas Busta scored none. However, the Spaniard won 85% of the first serve points which pushed Vesely out of the game.
On the other hand, Jordan would be high on confidence as well. He thrashed Lukáš Klein in his last match-up in straight sets by 6-4, 6-4. Although, he was stretched to the third set by Spanish tennis player Pablo Andújar in his first clash of the tournament.
After dropping the first set, Jordan won the second in the tie-breaker and eventually went on the win the contest. He would have to be at his absolute best in order to go past Pablo Carreno Busta.
