Novak Djokovic vs Denis Kudla : Preview
Novak Djokovic resumes normal service as he advances into the 3rd round with a straight-set victory in the 2nd round against Kevin Anderson. Djokovic defeated his old foe 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 in 1 hour and 41 minutes to register his 10th win over Anderson in their 12th meeting and maintain his 100% win record against Anderson at Wimbledon.
Djokovic had a shocker in the 1st round when he dropped the first set against British teenager Jack Draper on the opening day of the Championships. But he came back strong to win the match in 4-sets and went a step ahead today to win it in straight-sets as he continues his title defense at the All-England Club.
Denis Kudla reached the 3rd round at Wimbledon for the 2nd time after having made it till the 4th round in the 2015 Wimbledon which remains his best ever result in his 9 appearances at the Grand Slam so far. Kudla had been stopped in the 2nd round of the 2019 Wimbledon by Djokovic himself and he will be motivated to seek revenge from the Serbian.
Kudla was up against Italian, Andreas Seppi in the 2nd round today and went on to defeat him 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 in just over the 1.5 hour mark to wrap up a rather easy victory for the American.
Novak Djokovic vs Denis Kudla : Head to Head
This will be their 3rd meeting and 2nd at the Wimbledon having met in the 2nd round of the 2019 Wimbledon. They met later again at the 2019 US Open in the 3rd round where Djokovic was the winner again in straight-sets and leads the head-to-head tie 2-0 without having dropped a set against the American.
Novak Djokovic vs Denis Kudla : Prediction
Denis will come into the clash with a career Grass record of 75-44 and a season Grass record of 11-2 which includes his Challenger tournaments and the qualifying rounds of this year’s Wimbledon. He has a season record of 24-14 across all surfaces and will be motivated for revenge against Novak. But having said that, it will require a Herculean effort from the American to beat Novak.
