The 2022 Indian Wells Masters has been a giant roller coaster ride from one controversy to another, starting with the Japanese star Naomi Osaka‘s incident in the 2nd round to Nick Kyrgios‘s outburst today involving Hollywood star Ben Stiller against the 21-time grand slam Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals.
The 26-year old Australian player has always been one to lose his temper while playing. One of his major outbursts was the 2019 Italian Open, where he threw a chair on the court. Similarly, today in the midst of playing, a fan distracted Kyrgios while he was serving.

Nick Kyrgios was putting up a strong fight against the Spaniard today. Not having lost a single set in the entire tournament leading up to the quarterfinals, yielding a set to Nadal became extremely frustrating ( 6-7, 7-5, 4-6 ). To make things worse, in between playing, a fan-made an unnecessary comment while the Australian was about to serve. This got him really agitated, and he talked back to the ignorant fan.
Kyrgios asked mockingly, “Are you good at tennis?” for which the fan replied, saying, “No.” The Aussie continued with his anger leading to him getting a worldwide famous Hollywood star Ben Stiller. Kyrgios, out of frustration, pointed towards the renowned actor and asked him, “I don’t tell him how to act.” To this comment, the actor and his guest smiled out of amusement. After speaking with his actions and not words, Kyrgios got back to his game and focused on beating Nadal.

Getting a world-renowned actor into a quarrel with a fan was not the only problem Kyrgios got himself into today. After losing the match against Nadal in three sets, the Australian smashed his racket on the ground, however the momentum to too much that it rebounded and then hurled towards a ball boy who was standing in the corner of the court. The racquet was about to him the kid, but due to his quick reflexes, he dodged it.
Kyrgios was badly criticized for his demeanor on the court, forcing him to be the center of the attraction in the tennis world. Without losing time, Tennis TV tweeted a video along with the caption “Does @NickKyrgios tell @BenStiller how to act? Don’t think so.”
