World No. 19 Emma Raducanu after her heroics in the 2021 season will be one of the most-watched players. The 19-year old who came to the limelight from the 2021 Wimbledon Championships when she became the youngest British woman ever to reach the 4th round at the Championships.

Continuing her wait for her maiden Tour win, she reached the 2021 US Open ranked as World No. 150 as her rank outside Top-300 improved after her performance at Wimbledon. Emma played the three qualifying rounds to enter the main-draw and then went on to script history as she became the first singles qualifier to win a Grand Slam as she beat Canadian teenager Leylah Fernandez in the US Open finals.

Having become one of the crowd favourites, the Tour life was not as impressive as from her 3 tournament appearances after her win in New York, she won her first match of the tournament only once during her quarter-final run at the 2021 Transylvania Open. With many expecting her to return to Tour action in 2022, the Brit had some disappointing news for the fans.

The same is the case for Emma.

“The timing to compete in the first Melbourne event is too soon for me, having just returned from isolation,” said Emma as she announced her withdrawal from the WTA-250 Melbourne Summer Set that is set to begin from 4th January 2022.
