In the final set, Nadal was serving for the championship and lost the game after a double fault. During a post-match interview, the Spaniard while explaining that moment said, “F***! break one more time!”.
However, luckily Nadal himself got a break in the next set and went ahead to win the match and the Australian Open. He won his second Australian Open title 13 years after winning it for the first time.
Rafael Nadal expresses frustration about losing the break in fifth set

Rafael Nadal usually doesn’t let his emotions get the better of him. But the intensity in the fifth set at the Rod Laver Arena was at another level. Nadal who was two sets sown made an unbelievable comeback and was in a position to win the match.
However, in the fifth set, he gave Daniil Medvedev a break while serving at 5 games to 4. He was up 30-0 and then did a double fault and lost the game. In a topsy-turvy match that could’ve been the final turn which could’ve been regretful for Nadal.
Nevertheless, the Bull in Nadal didn’t give up and came back even stronger and defeated Medvedev to win his 21st grand slam title and his 2nd Australian Open title.
During a post-match when Nadal was asked about the break he lost in the fifth set he said, “Well after that, I said, F***! One more time breaks up in the fifth. I am gonna lose the advantage again like in 2012 and in 2017. But I said okay I lost I was nervous I made a double fault I made a mistake So I need to keep fighting, I can lose the match or he can beat me but I can’t give up even I am destroyed and that’s what I did and I was a little bit lucky in the end and then I think I played a great last game.”
Nadal has his grit, determination, and dedication, he won a title nobody including himself thought he could win. He has shown what a champion he is and truly owned the title of being called the G.O.A.T.
