Cristian Garin has had a terrific start to the tournament. He absolutely thrashed Marc Polmans in his opening encounter in straight sets. Moreover, he went on to bagel him in the second set. Garin now has winning momentum by his side but he came into the Swiss Open after a terrible outing at Swedish Open.
He did deliver a stellar performance in the beginning, but his journey was halted unexpectedly by unseeded Federico Coria who defeated him in three hard-fought sets in the quarter-finals. Moreover, he started well at Wimbledon as well but champion Novak Djokovic knocked him out in the fourth set.

Although Gaston bageled Delbonis in the first set, the Argentinian made a stunning comeback and after winning the second set, he took the third set to the tie-breaker.
