Laslo Đere vs Thiago Monteiro: Match Preview
Twenty-five year old Laslo Dere from Serbia has two ATP Titles to his credit. The Sardinia Open from 2020, and the Rio Open from 2019, and both those titles have been won on clay. His form this year on clay has not been that great though. He started off well, by reaching the Finals of the Sardinia Open 2021, but since then he has tapered off.
At Monte Carlo Masters and the Serbia Open he was ousted in the first round, and couldn’t make it past the Qualifiers at Madrid Open. At the Italian Open he lost to Pablo Carreño Busta, once again in the first round, 6-4 3-6 1-6. His first round opponent here is Brazilian Thiago Monteiro.
The twenty-six year old had his best result of the year at the Cordoba Open where he made it to the Quarter-finals. His recent results have not been that great, as he has failed to qualify for the Monte Carlo, Madrid and the Italian Open. His last match was a qualifier at the Italian open where he lost to Tommy Paul, 5-7 6-4 6-7.
Laslo Đere vs Thiago Monteiro: Head-to-Head
This is the first meeting between the two players, so currently the head to head is at 0-0.
Laslo Đere vs Thiago Monteiro: Prediction
Dere plays his best tennis on clay, and will be looking forward to making amends to the average season that he has had so far. His heavy spin laden forehands and natural movement on clay are his biggest assets. Monteiro is coming into this match low on form and confidence and will find it extremely difficult to contain Dere.
Match Prediction: Laslo Đere will beat Thiago Monteiro in straight sets.
