‘Getting accustomed to Grass’ Emma Raducanu tries her hand at a new sport

World No. 12 Emma Raducanu continues her hunt for consistency on the Tour having not won consecutive matches since her quarter-final run at the 2021 Transylvania Open played in October last year. Emma is playing in her first full season of the Tour and one can surely say that she would have expected a better start to the Tour life after her exploits at the 2021 US Open.
Emma recently played at the 2022 Indian Wells Open where she was defeated in the third round by Petra Martic in a crunch 3-set battle. Having received a bye in the first round due to her seeding followed by a 3-set win over Caroline Garcia, Emma looked in good shape but Martic’s experience turned out to be greater as she defeated the teenager to advance ahead.
With an exit in the first week, Emma has a good time to rest and recover for the next event and try to end her streak of poor results and the Brit seems to have found her way to break away from tennis. The teen recently took to her Instagram handle to post a video of her on a golf course and swinging a shot sporting a white t-shirt, blue shorts and pink shoes.

Post her defeat to Martic, the Brit revealed the reason for her poor form in Indian Wells and why did she look struggling. She is however in no mood to skip the upcoming 2022 Miami Open. It will be the tournament debut for the Brit in Miami and with the Miami Open being the final tournament before the focus completely shifts to Clay followed by Grass events till August, it is Emma’s last chance to find some consistency.
While Emma has shown her capabilities on Grass and Hardcourts, she is an unknown quantity on Clay and it will be interesting to see how she copes up with the surface that often creates problems for many players including the likes of Daniil Medvedev and Naomi Osaka to name a couple.
