Rising star Carlos Alcaraz has been pegged to be a major winner ever since he broke through the senior ranks. The young Spaniard made his ATP debut around two years back, but he is already seen as tennis’ next big star and has been rising up the rankings and it seems like this is just the start for the 19-year old.

Alcaraz recently took to Instagram to announce that he finally achieved his driver’s license and was excited to share it with his fans.

Goal accomplished, I’m already one more on the road ” Alcaraz captioned the post with a photo in which he takes learner’s sign off the car.

Fellow tennis players congratulated Alcaraz on getting his driver’s permit. Compatriot Alex Corretja cheekily replied to the post saying Alcaraz nearly won a Grand Slam before even getting a driving license. Alex De Minaur also congratulated the 18-year old for his accomplishment.

You almost won a Grand Slam before having a car license ! Now you can do the first thing !”, Corretja commented on the post.

Alcaraz is already making waves on the ATP circuit and he is just 18 years old. The Spaniard won the Next Gen ATP Finals last year. He also reached the quarter-finals of the US Open, which included an upset over Stefanos Tsitsipas in the third round. Alcaraz became the youngest player to reach a grand slam quarterfinal in over 30 years — since Michael Chang did so at the French Open in 1990.

Alcaraz came managed to reach the third round of the Australian Open, despite not playing any other lead-up tournaments. The teenager was the youngest player in the main draw and put on a brave fight against 7th seed Matteo Berrettini in the third round, but lost in five sets. Even in defeat, he showed glimpses of what is to come in the future and will be looking to have an even better tournament at the French Open, later this year.
