Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, became the first player from Kazakhstan to win a major title. Other than the Grand Slam, she has won two other WTA titles. The reigning champion is currently ranked 23, her highest ranking was 12 in January 2022. Rybakina entered her second major final in Melbourne by defeating two-time champion Victoria Azarenka.

The No. 1 Kazakhstani player is known for her good movement despite her height, hard-hitting strokes from the baseline, and powerful serve. Elena was born in Moscow, Russia, and focused on gymnastics and ice skating from an early age. Due to her tall stature, her father advised her to move to tennis, and she started training for the same.

The tennis star was trained by many accomplished coaches during her time at the Spartak Tennis Club in Moscow as a junior. Her lack of practice during her childhood does not detract from her playing abilities. Her sister was also a partner in her tennis practice. Since starting her professional career, Rybakina has excelled in the junior slams.

Who is Anna Rybakina, Elena’s older sister?

Anna Rybakina is also a tennis player. She was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1997. The 25-year-old has not disclosed much information about her personal life. She pursued her education at a private high school and continued it at one of the top universities in Moscow. The player was a constant companion in Elena’s childhood training.
