Taylor Fritz has been dubbed as the flagbearer of American tennis for a while now. The young gun from California has been creating quite a lot of buzz with consistent performances on the Tour.

Coming into the 2024 season, he has been ranked as high as World No. 5, a feat he achieved in February 2023. With six Tour titles including a Masters-1000 which he won on home turf in Indian Wells, he has been making good progress.

The former Wimbledon quarter-finalist has however been quite famous for his personal life as well. After getting married at the age of 18 to fellow pro Raquel Pedraza, their subsequent divorce following the birth of their son gained quite some attention.

Post his divorce, his relationship with his girlfriend Morgan Riddle has also made quite a buzz. Riddle shot to fame through her engaging social media content becoming an influencer. With a massive following on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, her relationship with Fritz has been the favorite of many tennis fans.

The couple has been quite vocal about their relationship ever since they made it public. Riddle is often seen accompanying Fritz at his matches. She uses the opportunity to put out the behind-the-stage action on social media to engage fans better. This was one of the big reasons why she became popular in tennis circles.

But while much is known about them at present, the two rarely talk about the commencement of their relationship. However, the influencer had opened up on the details of how they got introduced and started dating.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Riddle revealed having met Fritz in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. She had just switched cities and was in a new place in the middle of the global pandemic. To find people to hang out with, she got on Raya, a members-only dating app.

She met the tennis pro on the app and the duo instantly hit off. They initially met at his house and had to order food as dine-in was closed due to the lockdown. On their first date, she made him watch Midsommar, a famous horror movie, something which she still questions.

Because it was during Covid, no restaurants were open, no bars were open so we ordered sushi. We went to his place and I made him watch Midsommar with me, the really messed up horror movie. Why I chose that as my first introduction to a guy, I don't really know. I think I traumatized him a little bit.

They started dating soon after and have now been together for nearly four years. With their relationship going strong, the fans of the couple have often questioned them on marriage plans but there’s no update on that front from either of them.
