But the Serb shares how he feels he is a very positive person and takes things very positively. “I try to be optimistic in life and consider myself a very optimistic, positive person,” Djokovic told reporters at the Monte Carlo Country Club.

‘The last 4-5 months have been very challenging for me,” Novak Djokovic opens up on his mental health issues
It will not be easy for Novak Djokovic to come up from a break and dominate every opponent that he faces. He will be rusty and will need some time to get in that groove. Therefore, he is playing these tournaments to get back the rhythm ahead of the Roland Garros. He aims to defend his title in Paris.
“Once I start playing matches… I will obviously have to deal with everything that probably has been dormant inside and is maybe waiting to come out, ” Djokovic shared.
However, he ensures that it is not something that bothers him a lot or has left any kind of scars on him. “It is not something that is bothering me on a daily basis. I don’t feel it has left huge scars that I’m unable to train or participate in tournaments or live my life… far from that.“
But the 20-time Grand Slam winner reveals how he wishes to channelise all of this and fuel his job at hand right now. “But it has been a very challenging few months and something I have never experienced before. So I will try to use that as a fuel for what’s coming up,” Djokovic concluded.
Novak Djokovic will start his Monte Carlos campaign on Tuesday against Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the second round of the tournament as he aims to win his third title.
