“I can’t enter United States” Novak Djokovic possibly out of Indian Wells and Miami Open

Novak Djokovic is finally back onto the tour with his first match of 2022 at the Dubai Tennis Championship. The world No.1 won his match convincingly and was able to defeat his opponent in straight sets.
Djokovic had a great 2021, where he managed to bag 3 out of the 4 grand slams and made it to the finals of the fourth one. However, 2022 didn’t get started as the Serb would’ve wanted it to.
After being deported from Australia at the beginning of the year, Djokovic finally played his first match of 2022 at the Dubai Tennis Championship. After winning the first match he talked about the chances of him not being able to play Indian Wells and Miami Open.
Novak Djokovic can’t enter United States
It looks like Novak Djokovic’s unvaccinated status won’t let the world No.1 contest in many of the tournaments throughout the world. As the guidelines of the tournaments become stricter and stricter for the safety of players. The chances of Djokovic being able to play tournaments in getting lower and lower.
The world No.1 has refused to get vaccinated and is ready to bear the consequences of his decision. He has an open mind about getting vaccinated but hasn’t confirmed his intentions on getting vaccinated any time soon.
Due to the covid-19 guidelines in place in the United States, it is nearly impossible for Djokovic to get into the USA. Two of the biggest events of the tour Indian Wells and Miami Open will be played in the USA and this clearly means that Djokovic might not get a chance to play in those.
After winning his first game at the Dubai Tennis Championship, the world No.1 said, “I can’t enter the United States. As of today, I’m not able to play. But let’s see what happens. Maybe things change in the next few weeks.”
