Carlos Alcaraz recently admitted to have celebrated Rafael Nadal’s incredible Australian Open 2022 win like it was his own. Alcaraz has now heaped praise on his compatriot and role model, terming his win as extraordinary and admitting to celebrate the title as if he himself had won it. The youngster then went on to declare the veteran as an example to follow.
“Seeing Rafael Nadal winning the 21st Major crown was incredible. I remember watching the match at home and celebrating like I won a Major. Rafa is an example to follow,” said Alcaraz.
However, the admiration is not just one way, as Nadal too had admitted his admiration of the youngster a few days ago. The former World No.1 said that things are unlikely to go wrong for a man as talented as Alcaraz, virtually declaring him as a future superstar.
Due to both hailing from Spain and being very competitive in nature, Alcaraz has also been hailed as the next Nadal. The youngster, who considers the 21-time grand slam winner as his model, definitely has a huge expectation to live up to after being compared to such a legend.
