“I wish for peace and an end to the war,” Victoria Azarenka takes a firm stand over the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war

The ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis has created havoc in the entire world. People around the world are praying for the well being and safety of the people of Russia and Ukraine. The war has left the whole world shattered. Many celebrities across the globe have expressed their concern on the current situation. People are left homeless and without food because of this devastating situation.
This war has not even left sports from it. Tennis stars across the globe are showing their support towards peace. Russian and Ukrainian athletes are being boycott by international organizations due to the war.
Victoria Azarenka speaks on the War
Belarusian tennis star Victoria Azarenka expressed her opinions on the ongoing war. She revealed how devasted she was because of the situation. She posted this on her official Twitter handle. Vika said that she is ‘devastated’ by whatever’s happening in Ukraine and that it’s ‘heartbreaking’ to see innocent people suffer.
“I am devastated by the actions that have taken place over the last several days against and in Ukraine. It’s heartbreaking to see how many innocent people have been affected and continue to be affected by such violence. Since my early childhood, I have always seen and experienced Ukrainian and Belarusian people, as well as both nations, friendly and supportive of one another,” Victoria wrote
At the end, Azarenka pled for mercy and asked everyone to find compassion for each other. He then hoped for peace and wished that the war comes to an end soon.
“It is hard to witness the violent separation that is currently taking place instead of supporting and finding compassion for each other. My heart is with everyone directly and indirectly impacted by this war that is causing such pain and suffering for so many. I hope and wish for peace and an end to the war,” she added.
On tour, Azarenka was last seen at the Qatar Open where she handed a Round of 16 walkover to Madison Brengle. She will next compete at Indian Wells in a week’s time.
