Iga had a fantastic Clay season winning the 2021 Italian Open defeating Karolina Pliskova 6-0, 6-0 in the finals winning it in 46 minutes. She then reached the quarter-finals of the 2021 French Open ending her streak of 11 consecutive wins at the Roland Garros. However, since then, she has seen a dip in her form.

During the Grass season, her best run came at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships where she reached the 4th round before losing to Ons Jabeur in 3-sets. She next played at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics where she was defeated in the 2nd round by Spain’s Paula Badosa. Back on the Tour, she was shocked in the 2nd round by Jabeur once again at the 2021 Cincinnati Open.

At the 2021 US Open, she was defeated in the 4th round by Belinda Bencic and then lost in the semi-finals of the 2021 Ostrava Open losing to Maria Sakkari. She looked in great touch at the Indian Wells but saw another 4th round defeat. With the season about to end, Iga will look to point out the flaws before the next season begins.
