Nick Kyrgios

Nick Kyrgios, this year’s Wimbledon runner-up played his first major finals against Novak Djokovic. The Serb defeated the 45th ranked Kyrgios in 4-sets to win his 21st major. The Australian handled the pressure well in the first set and won it but as the game moved to the next sets, it was Novak who ruled the court in the next three sets to extend his streak to the 4th consecutive Wimbledon title.

Kyrgios is known as a bad guy in tennis because of all the drama he creates on the court, from the chair umpire to the spectators. Some people term Nick’s behaviour on the court as very annoying but his fans love this particular thing about the Australian and we can behold his surging popularity in tennis.

Nick Kyrgios explains why signed up for the Netflix show

Nick kyrgios

Kyrgios has recently signed up for a show with Netflix which will be directed on his journey in the recently concluded Wimbledon. The show will be similar to Netflix’s ‘Drive to Survive’ in which all the F1 drivers’ journey in the calendar year is shown.

The Aussie was asked why he signed up for the show, to which he replied, “I think I was quite interested because I think tennis culture is changing. I think there is a lot of, I mean, there is no hiding it. Tennis is a very white privileged sport. I loved the fact that I was able to show my path and the way I go about it and how I connect with people. I think it’s a very different side to how people would perceive most tennis players.”

“I think it’s a special thing for other coloured athletes that do want to play tennis to see myself, you know, you have (Frances) Tiafoe out there right now, (Naomi) Osaka, us doing it the way we are doing it,” added Kyrgios. A tennis match where Kyrgios play can be entertaining so one can guarantee that show based on Kyrgios’ Wimbledon journey would be a treat for his fans.
