“It was a compliment, Tiger is the GOAT,” Chris Evert clears up things after a fan mistook her praise for the golf legend

Chris Evert and Tiger Woods

The history of sports is replete with tales of tenacity and drive. Players have made spectacular comebacks in sports ranging from Michael Jordan to Lance Armstrong. Rafael Nadal, the Spanish tennis great, played one of the most memorable matches of the Australian Open earlier this year. He won his 21st Grand Slam championship after coming back from a two-set deficit against Daniil Medvedev. Tiger Woods, the American golfing superstar, just achieved an incredible comeback in the Augusta Masters.

After a horrific automobile accident in February of last year, the 15-time Major winner, Tiger Woods returned to the sport last week. Following his choice to partake in the event, the winner was showered with accolades on social media. His grit and dedication were also praised by many other athletes and legends from around the world. Chris Evert, the 18-time Grand Slam winner, was one among them. A fan, on the other hand, mistook her remark regarding the golfing legend.

Chris Evert had asked how many days had Tiger Woods been absent from the Tour

The former World No. 1 tennis player gushed about the comeback hero. “The guy made it to the weekend and he’s been gone for HOW many days?” she said on Twitter, expressing her opinion. Her remark, however, did not go down well with one of her fans. “What happened to you?” the fan inquired. Don’t say anything at all if you don’t have anything good to say.” “It was a compliment,” Chris Evert later clarified her remark. Tiger is the goat and was incredible even competing!”

Tiger Woods put on a gutsy performance on Friday, overcoming ailments and a lack of match fitness to make the cut. On the next day, though, he shot a six-over-par 78. Tiger should be happy about his comeback after nearly 16 months away from the sport, even if it was his lowest score in a Masters round. In addition, he shot the same total on Sunday, finishing at 13-over.

Tiger was engaged in a catastrophic vehicle accident on February 23, 2021, when his SUV slammed into a tree, uprooting it. Following that, he was taken to the hospital for treatment of his significant injuries. He had even revealed that the accident had almost cost him his right leg. He recently surprised everyone by announcing his intention to make a comeback. It’s just one of those great stories that motivate people to never give up and to get back up every time they fall!
