“It’s quite a longshot” Novak Djokovic on catching Roger Federer’s record for most Dubai titles

Novak Djokovic is finally returning back onto the tour for the first time in 2022 and will be playing at the Dubai Tennis Championship. In his first press conference on his return, he was asked about the possibility of him surpassing Roger Federer to become the player with the most Dubai Tennis Championship titles.
Djokovic humbly responded to the question and said “It’s quite a longshot”. Both the players have won the Dubai Tennis Championship multiple times in their careers. However, Federer is still way ahead of Djokovic and he’ll need to work hard to even match Federer’s record.
Djokovic after his deportation from Australia and not being able to play at the Australian Open will be playing his first game of 2022. He has been under scrutiny for the longest time and still might miss many tournaments.

Both Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer have been off the tour for some time now for different reasons. Djokovic is returning back on the tour for the first time in 2022 due to deportation in Australia and not being able to play the Australian Open.
Whereas Roger Federer is suffering from an injury and is scheduled to make his return at the Laver Cup this year. Both the players weren’t able to participate in the first grand slam of 2022 and are expected to eventually return onto the tour.
When Djokovic was asked about breaking Federer’s record of winning the most Dubai Tennis Championship titles in his career. He replied by saying, “It’s quite a longshot, I would say. He’s won it eight times. I won it I think five times. I don’t know how many more years I’m going to be playing on a high level and being one of the contenders to win the tournament.”
Djokovic is finally returning to the tour at the Dubai Tennis Championship and will be playing his first match on Monday against the Italian Lorenzo Musetti. His fans will be excited to wathc him in action for the first time in 2022.
