Daria Kasatkina makes a good start to her Grass season reaching the quarter-finals in her Grass debut of the season. Daria defeated Marta Kostyuk 6-2, 7-5 to move into the 3rd quarter-final of the season. Daria made her competition debut in 2018 and now playing in the tournament for the 2nd time, she moves into the last-8.

Daria has so far been fairly successful this season winning two titles already. She won the 2021 Phillip Island Trophy and later won the 2021 St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy making it two titles in two finals for the season, a good 100% record in the business-end of the tournament.

Tereza Martincova makes it into her second successive quarter-final on Grass this season after failing to reach the last-8 before this season. Martincova defeated the 5th seeded Jelena Ostapenko in 3-sets to advance into the quarter-finals in her maiden appearance at the tournament in Birmingham where she started from the qualifying rounds.

Tereza had an off-season so far struggling to reach the final stages as she often faced early exits in most of her tournaments as she started from the qualifying rounds due to her low rank. However, she looks settled on court and will be looking to get some good results before the all important Wimbledon 2021.
