Former Wimbledon champion, Petra Kvitova, hasn’t had a very successful 2021 season, to say the least. She had to withdraw from the French Open just after winning the first round due to an injury and she was knocked out from Wimbledon 2021 in the very first round.
The Czech tennis star was defeated in straight sets by Sloane Stephens in the Wimbledon opener. However, Kvitova was able to salvage pride at the Bad Homburg Open where her journey ended in the semis. Needless to say, Kvitova would be itching to make a grand comeback.
Rebecca Sramkova on the other hand absolutely thrashed her opponents in the qualifiers to make her way into the main draw at the Prague Open 2021. She defeated Barbora Palicova and Yue Yuan in straight sets in the two qualifiers.
Rebecca was knocked out in the qualifier stage at the French Open, as well as at Wimbledon. However, the kind of form she has displayed till now in Prague depicts that she has improved her game to a great extent and is ready to take on the big names.
